Walmart 2nd chance?

hi all,

Has anyone been able to get the walmart card even though you burned them in the past. They are suppose to be one of the easier cards to get but it is still on my credit report as closed/written off.

Re: Walmart 2nd chance?

Actually Yes a few years back i wrote some bad checks there repeatedly and they put me into chek systems banning me from using checks dont know if that has anything to do with credit cards but last october i applied for the walmart store card and was denied even after calling recon still denied now two weeks ago i attempt again for the store card and got approved for the Mastercard no the store card with a $1300 cl shocked but happy. Like i said dont know if that is what you mean by burning them but thats what happened to me

Re: Walmart 2nd chance?

Writing bad checks at Walmart has nothing to do with their credit card. The Walmart card is issued by synchrony, not Walmart. Even if you have burned synchrony they are forgiving, theres no cookie cutter answer since all situations are different, how recently was your charge off and how much was it? That may make a difference. Have you tried for any other synchrony cards?

Re: Walmart 2nd chance?

I burned Sams in my BK7 in 2013, and got them back 15 months later, and now upgraded to MC. Yes, Its possible...Id try closer to the holidays. I know some people say it doesn't matter, but It does. Sometimes they lower the standards a little during the holidays for approvals. Smiley Happy

Re: Walmart 2nd chance?

I think pizza may be right about applying around the holidays. When I go to Walmart they are constantly pushing the card at the register, I can't recall ever being asked to apply at the register before, so they must have a major push going which may be beneficial to you.

Re: Walmart 2nd chance?

it was $294 that was written off. It is due to fall off in 2018. I havent tried applying for any other synchrony cards cause my scores are still low. They are mid 500's across the board.
