All these closures have me checking my Walmart acct daily. So far, so good
With so many accounts closing, I assume they are trying to limit their risk by eliminating customers who do not use the cards frequently or just something on their report that they do not like. I am reading a few posts on here that people are getting their accounts closed for minor reasons. Correct me if I'm wrong but could it be because they're in the process of purchasing the Accounts Reciavables from Paypal Credit? That must take some type of toll on Synchrony.
I don't use VPNs just incognito mode.

I was surprised at the posts that report that people who've been AA'ed on their Walmart cards are being told to expect letters from Equifax, because I had been under the impression that Synchrony used TU more or less exclusively for store cards. Then again, I just now remembered that PayPal Credit uses Equifax for determining eligibility for credit and CLI's, so there may be something to what you say. That being said, however, if Synchrony issues cards to people having done HP's and seen whatever dings are on there - I had a Chapter 7 BK in 2014 burning Chase on a Visa, Citi on a mortgage and store CC (Best Buy), and BoA on a second mortgage, and still have gotten Amazon, Walmart and Care Credit with a huge $11K CLI on my Care Credit earlier this month - I'm not sure they'd give definitive weight to whatever they found in PayPal Credit's records from Comenity, though by all means it'd be one factor in whatever decision they made.
I'd also think that people who just let their cards sit around and use them rarely are now at higher risk of account closure, since it's often been pointed out in these forums that credit card issuers prefer to have customers that actually use their cards frequently (which is one reason that I think there's a fundamental contradiction between issuers, which would undoubtedly much prefer that customers carry moderate balances and make good payments so they can earn interest on said balances, and people such as many posters here who are of the opinion that one should never carry balances on their cards).
P.S. I've never used VPN's myself, in fact, I confess I'm not even very sure how to set one up, and I very rarely use incognito mode.
One possibility that crossed my mind, after discussing with @Cr3dit5hark in the other thread on Walmart closures, is that Synchrony might be re-evaluating reports after adopting new standards/protocols/procedures and that old derogatory or negative information that didn't pose a problem when someone opened their account is now an issue under the new standards.
All of my accounts do seem fine however I'm not going to login everyday also worth mentioning I did not do any kind of app spree with sync... I've had one store card for sometime and then that card got upgraded to a visa then after many months I applied for another card not all in one day also I do regulary use my cards as been said cards need activity letting them sit in a draw does nothing for the bank but pose a risk.

The final answer I got from someone in the US was it was due to inactivity and my credit score from EXPERIAN! Which makes no sense to me since SYNC uses TU for most if not all their cards and even the FICO score they give you is TU, so it's kind of just a crap answer to me.
Actually Synchrony has been using Experian for Walmart cards recently. I had a case of attempted identify theft last month that Experian caught when Synchrony did a hard pull at Experian. TransUnion was not involved. I might add that I spoke with Experian, Walmart, and Synchrony that day, and all three were very professional and quite helpful.
