Walmart Capital One Rewards changing to Quicksilver!

What a disappointment! Changing to a QS. I already have a QS, so if I can transfer the available credit to my existing account, I'll be closing my old Walmart card soon to be QS.

I suppose it can be helpful for those who don't already have a Quicksilver card or don't mind having a secondary one.

Re: Walmart Capital One Rewards changing to Quicksilver!

This bites.  I use my Cap1 WM card to order online a few times a month for 5% CB with the card + another 5% with Cap1 shopping offers.  Even if another issuer offers a new 5% WM card (I really think this has to happen, for walmart.com to try and compete with amazon), I won't be able to stack 10% any more.  I let my QS wither away over a decade ago.  What am I going to do with a worthless QS??

[Until I can make a pretty signature, here’s an updated draft]

Everyday 5% CB:
Chase prime Visa // citi CUSTOM CASH “A” // citi CUSTOM CASH “B” // citi SHOP YOUR WAY (5% gas (in points), lucrative spending offers) // mylowe’s Rewards // Target circle card // primis Perks debit Visa (50c CB per transaction (5% CB or more up to $10 spend))

5% CB rotating:
Chase “OG” freedom Visa // DISCOVER it Cash Back // nusenda CU Platinum Cash Rewards

Everyday 4% CB:
US Bank Smartly (v1.0)

Everyday 3% / 2.2% CB:
AOD FCU Visa Signature (3%, sockdrawered) // upgrade Cash Rewards Elite (2.2%, sockdrawered)

Welcome Offer / credits only:
Chase SAPPHIRE PREFFERED (grabbed my $1,000, sockdrawered, will cancel) // NFCU FLAGSHIP REWARDS (elevated Welcome Offer, annual prime credit, sockdrawered)

Hotel card:
Chase IHG ONE REWARDS PREMIER (elevated Welcome Offer, 1 free night/yr)

On my radar:
Langely FCU Signature Cash Back (5% CB monthly selectable cat) // Safe CU Cash Back+ (Quarterly rotating 5% CB cats plus bonus cats) // upgrade MyFive Cash Rewards (5% CB monthly selectable cat) // US Bank Kroger (and family) World Elite Master Card(s) (5% CB Mobile Wallet)

I would hope their forced PC is based off higher usage categories as to what they PC you to rather than QS being the only option for everyone.

I haven't been alerted to anything yet for my C1 WM wMC. I'll give it more time before I become concerned they may just close mine with no PC at all.

Lol, yeah, I guess so.  Actually, even if WM partners with a new issuer to offer a 5% card, the 1.5% QS + 5% Cap1 WM shopping offer = 6.5%.  That assumes Cap1 keeps offering the 5% shopping offer though.

Gross, but I figured this would happen. Capital One might be the strictest big banks when it comes to product changes.
