Walmart, amazon?

hi all

I was just curious if anyone has ever been able to get back in with walmart/synchrony while still showing as a chrage of on your credit report. I burned them for $294 from 2009. My scores have recently hit 605 for transunion and 593 for exp and equifax. Still hve not been able to get an unsecured card with anyone and i know walmart is suppose to be easy to get but not sure in my situation. Thanks

Re: Walmart, amazon?

I was able to get back with Synchrony, after I burned them with about 9 cards in BK7, it took about 8 months after my discharge though.  I did have at least 6 months of payment history before I apped, my first was Belk (preapproval letter in mail), then i added Walmart and Amazon on Black Friday ( not sure if that helped).  My TU scores were around 630 at the time.  There is hope!  How many cards do you currently have?

Current Scores EQ 689| EX 688| TU 679
Comenity 57.5k| Navy Fed 52.5k| Capital One 32.3k| Synchrony 23k| BBVA Compass 5.5k| First Commerce 4k| Barclays 1.9k|

Re: Walmart, amazon?

IMO I would say you would need 1 unsecured card (3 cards are optimal for fico scoring purposes).  You can always try the prequal with credit one or milestone so you will know before you take a hp.  Then after 6 months having the unsecured card, then try walmart or amazon.
