Weird message on Sync accounts!

My mom is worried, keeps getting prompts on sync accounts to update her email address but I checked and she has no spam filters turned on and even added sync to her safe senders list..SHe went ahead and updated all her sync accounts to her other email address yesterday and today it started again...Then when she said she called, they asked her is her number her home or cell phone.....Well that's where it gets even more weird...It was a cell line and converted to a landline...They keep listing it as mobile when they update it...

Anyone else ever had or getting this same issue?

Re: Weird message on Sync accounts!

sounds like a tech issue. maybe synch isn't too fond of the domain. is it hotmail or yahoo or something like that? Also to note, by the time you place something on the 'safe' list a rejection may have already been sent. one more time for good measure... then call synch online support if issue persists b

Re: Weird message on Sync accounts!

If she's getting pop-ups or some kind of special alert, not sure what is going on there.   Maybe they tried sending her some sort of verification e-mail and she never opened it (presumably, they would've asked her to click a link to verify or something)?

That being said, if she's seeing this

...with the little blue "update" link after her contact info, that is always there.

Synchrony like most other creditors likes to keep updated information on where to find their account holders.

And the phone number type thing is probably being caused by a computer "remembering" that it was originally presented to them as a cell number.

They have to be very, very careful about calling cell phones (as opposed to home or other landline phones) to avoid potential FDCPA problems.

It doesn't really affect your mom's account either way, so I wouldn't stress if they've identified a home/landline number as a cell - only if they had it the other way around.

Re: Weird message on Sync accounts!

I think I feel better knowing it's  not just her....I checked all my sync accounts...the email address she uses was @att.net....she changed it yesterday to @icloud.com....mines are all @hotmail.com.....They finally said today after I had her check all her accounts and only two show to update the email they will forward it to IT.....But the amazon one blocks you from seeing the account until you make the update. The gap one, you can just click one of the tabs at the top to bypass the update.
