Welcome to Chevron!

Wow. So we got the Chevron card in February, used it for gas (duh) which is why we wanted it - tracking on our gas purchases... etc.

Before my statement cut I paid our outstanding charges, being the good CCH I am. Got online this morning to check out my account and see what DH has been up to with it (he believes you don't have to fill the tank until the light comes on), and there was a credit balance! It says welcome to Chevron, with a credit of $6.73.

What a way to start the day!!

Guess I'll gas up DH's car this morning!! Smiley Happy

Well, merry Christmas! Smiley Very Happy

Always nice to see a credit balance on your credit card. I have a Chevron card too. Love it. Just wish I had a higher cl on it, ya know? With a $0 balance, and with the price of gas, I fill up once and I'm already over 10% util on it.

Does having a cooler fuel pump make the car run better?

I started with a 300.00 limit on my Chevron card. I used it once a month to put in like 50.00 or so and paid it off in full every month.

In about 6 mos, the CL was raised to 700.

Now I have a CL of 1500.00 on it.

Use it sparingly, pay it off and they will automatically raise your limit.

Now if I can get him to listen to this, maybe he'll take care of it!! Oy!

Actually, I'm the maintenance person in the household. I'll keep this in mind AND print it off so he sees it. Smiley Happy

As for Sylvia's comment on the limit - yep, I'm with you on that one. It costs me $50 to fill the tank on the van and $30 to fill the tank on the little tin can (aka DH's car). A $300 limit doesn't go very far. But that's ok, since I PIF anyway. It WAS like Christmas this morning! Boy I love Chevron. Smiley Happy

Re: Welcome to Chevron!

kotam, congrats to you. I've had my card since August, and have seen nothing of a cli out of them...yet. I called a few months ago, and the CSR said they review only annually. Smiley Sad Can't do much with a $400 cl.

Tnx for the response, though.

Re: Welcome to Chevron!

I only use Chevron in both of my Hondas.  Chevron is considered a "Top Tier Gasoline:"

Top Tier Detergent Gasoline

TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is the premier standard for gasoline performance. Six of the world's top automakers, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi recognize that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.

Re: Welcome to Chevron!

psychic, that's good to know, and probably why our family gets better gas mileage using Chevron, than most other brands of gas, of the same grade. Thanks.

Re: Welcome to Chevron!

How cool is this?!  Not only are our fellow fico-philes an excellent resource on credit info, but I'm also learning excellent information to help me with my vehicles!  Actually, the key thing here is that it's all ultimately related....  Maintain your vehicles well and you will save money.  I'm noting this and sending out a big thank you!

And I knew Chevron gas was better for my vehicles, but had no idea how much.  Now that Chevron card is doing double duty - encouraging me to use better gas AND giving me a way to monitor my purchases.  Smiley Happy
