Well this is a first

When I got the Venture cards last week I put my credit in as average, turns out it was good. I got the cards anyway. Also approved for Amex BCED. After that I didn't want to look at my scores but checked CK today and TU vantage went up 15, EQ up 33pts?! They are showing the new accts. on CK.  I was in some kind of 'bucket' for a few months even though I don't completely understand that hypothesis.  So, I'll see a slight dip when fico cycles I guess? One thing I've learned, it can make you nuts monitering your score too much. So it seems I'm out of  'that' bucket and willingly into the garden.

Re: Well this is a first

Seems to me that you should not trust CK cause the increase is probably not real or inline with your fico's .....Sorry

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Keep in mind that the TU and EQ Vantagescores provided by CK are only relevant to creditors that use those Vantagescores.  Most creditors use one of the FICO models.

Further, to understand the reason(s) for any scoring change you have carefully compare reports from before and after the change.

FICO doesn't cycle and CK has nothing to do with FICO.

Focus on report data, not the numbers.

Re: Well this is a first

Your new Amex card will give you a monthly Experian 08 FICO score, so that will be useful for racking one of your actual FICO scores.

The Venture will give you another worthless Fako score. Ignore that one.

I was going by credit factors or report data &  since Ck showed the 2 new accts. I expected a dip which is what usually happens. Yes, I realize Vantage is kind of a useless tool;  my EX fico is 723.

I read that fico up dates approx every 45 days..? Is that just another tale?

Anyway, thanks for the input.

Real FICO scores from the credit agency is a Real Time score. If you have a service that is displaying a FICO or FAKO score then the interval between updates varies depending on the service
