Congrats to all approvals!

My story with wells fargo:  Was "farmed in" when they bought a local bank .  Have checking and savings since '98.  Denied in responce to an invitation for a card in 2009 because of BK7 in 2005.  After 7year anniversary of Bk, DW and I received pre-approvals in mail for WF Platinum.  Very reluctant to apply after 09 denial and reading on these forums how conservative WF is.  DW and I pulled the trigger!!!!  WOW!!!!!!!!  Approved DW--$10,000  and $12,000 for me.  Platinum rewards.  our highest lines.

AAoA is 12yrs. no baddies since BK. Pulled EX 736.  These forums are great with endless info.  Thanks

I just got my letter of denial for the Wells Fargo Student card.  Granted I just opened a checking/savings student combo with them a few weeks prior .  Any chance they might recon me--their only reason given was insufficient duration of relationship with Wells Fargo.  If I'm just starting out (still don't have my first credit card yet) couldn't I call them and ask them to reconsider since I just opened my student bank account with them and want to start to build credit?

They approved me the day i opened my college combo so it is definitely a possibility. The only thing i had on my reports was quite a few inqs and federal student loan accounts, no cards reporting yet. Idk if they do recons though.
