Wells Fargo credit cards

Hi all,

Do anyone has WF credit cards? I have 2 for 6 years now. I just noticed on my online banking that they are offering me to upgrade my credit card. If i accepted it, do i loose the age of my old credit card? Thank. you for your responses.

Welcome to the forum.

Usually you keep the same date, but some banks stupidly report it as a new account. So you should call and be sure about what they would do.

Moving to credit cards forum

Generally with WF upgrades you'll keep the same account and it won't show as a new card.

what's the upgrade to/from?  I have an Active Cash and never received such a thing

Re: Wells Fargo credit cards

I did a product change from an Active Cash to an Autograph, and kept the same account number. My expectation is that you the age of the account would remain the same.

Re: Wells Fargo credit cards

WF has sunsetted many of its cards offerings- the Cash Wise for one and the Propel.   The Propel was killed in 2021 and had only been released in 2018.   (I think WF wanted to end its Propel/Amex relationship.)

WF did a good job contacting affected legacy card holders of the transition to the Active Cash or Autograph.

The Active Cash, Autograph and Reflect are the only current WF core card products.

Hoping that  @Galato  will chime in with the two cards in question!

Re: Wells Fargo credit cards

I've had an offer online to change my Active Cash to Autograph since just a few months after I opened it.  Still there under "Switch My Credit Card" on the card's page. The wording all very clearly states that the only thing that will change is the physical card and the rewards program.  This is thankfully how product changes work with most of the large issuers.

Re: Wells Fargo credit cards

I just recently switched it out too, to autograph I think it would replace my csp for travel spending but if they do promotion like the double cash then probably would kept it but I already got the 200 bonus. Wish I got the autograph $300 bonus tho

Btw, WF has never had transfer partners? They recently just introduced it of December of 2023?
