That is one of our slightly higher priced options, but well worth it! On receipt of the fee we will publish a final version of:
Jack Centars, one of world's leading Forensic Mobilologists, explains how he became interested in this field of growing importance. "Several years ago, I was in the university library, and someone had left a book on a reading desk. I picked it up, flicked through at random, and saw an article on Forensic Mobilology by someone called Remedios. I had never heard of that person, or the whole field to be honest. But the article was so well written, so interesting, explaining everything without being patronizing, I suddenly realized what I wanted to do with my life! And I also wanted to meet this Remedios. I found out that she is extremely busy, being THE world expert in this field, always at conferences and in demand. But I did meet her finally, and found her to be even more wonderful than I had hoped, super intelligent, very friendly and what she doesn't know about Forensic Mobilology isn't worth knowing! I am SO GLAD I picked up that book."
Changes can be made for an additional fee.

No changes, I'd hate for anyone to think it's exaggerated. We'll stay with the facts as presented above
(Did fee go up?)
$800 per claim and $1600 per year cell phone protection is greater than the other WF cards offer (600/1200).
I pay with Propel and have filed a claim that was processed quickly once I provided proof of phone ownership on a carrier's monthly plan, proof that I paid bill for month phone was damaged with Propel card, and receipt for repair.
If I recall correctly, the reimbursement was posted to my Propel card.

I wonder if product change is an option to this card?...
DP: I'll probably honestly apply now and use it for cell protection because it's AMAZING. According to the Bilt site:
"Reimbursement is limited to the repair or replacement of your original cell phone, less a $25 deductible with an allowable maximum of two paid claims per 12-month period. Each approved claim has a benefit limit of $800."
$1,600 A YEAR, WOOOOO!!!! What other $0 af cards have that??
So I applied for the Bilt card since PayPal Key is about to be 💀, figured that it might be a way to still get value for my rent.
Approved @ 14k but it’s the Evolve card, not the Wells Fargo card. O_o
Also, dang it, there’s 10x available for me the next 5 days, apparently (up to a 50k cap). Already paid rent though. Guess I will prepay some rent on my PayPal Key and bills?

Interesting.
So, in skimming through the T&C's, I didn't see anything on the WF site that indicated that if one did not qualify for the WF CC then the applicant would be considered for the Evolve version. Does the Evolve CC offer similar benefits as the WF CC @notmyrealname23? For some reason I recall BILT was partnering with Evolve from the get-go, but wasn't sure if this led to a dual or bilateral partnership.
It offered the benefits I expected it to (3x dining, 2x travel, transferable points, rent at 1x, need 5 transactions a month).
I was just surprised that with all the hullabaloo in the miles and points world about the WF partnership they were still giving applicants through Bilt.com the old card, apparently everyone will eventually be transitioning to WF at some point though. I was willing to break out of the garden because I have a WF card with good history (Hotels.com)...

Ah gotcha.
So, when you applied, did you go through the WF link on the WF site or through the BILT.com site? Where you already a registered BILT.com applicant? I was trying to grasp the outcome of ending up with a BILT CC vs the intended WF product.
Went through bilt.com via the Bilt app. I have an account that has some promo points in it.
Also... looks like that with the MC I am set up to have $ direct debited from my bank account and still earn 1x. I am losing the 2x I was getting from my VentureX via PayPal Key (
) but I get 1x and pay $10 less in fees, so not a complete loss- and transferring into Hyatt with a card is an important use case I was actually wanting Chase for, so this removes some pressure on that, and a bonus, this is a $0 AF card.
(There's actually a path where you have a pretty interesting set of transfer partner all with $0 AF cards...)
I thought about getting this card but finally they choose an issuer, of all issuer why WF? I have to pass...
@wasCB14 wrote:Just as a general caution, some towns have better post offices than others. My local one is pretty poorly run. Enough mail gets lost or misdelivered that almost all tenants prefer to hand-deliver a check to a drop box rather than take their chances with first-class mail.
So if you use this service to pay a low-tech landlord, you'll want to pay well in advance to allow for a second (even possibly third?) check to arrive before any late penalties kick in.
ETA: While the same problems affect services like Plastiq, renters on average have less cash in checking accounts than many CC SUB chasers do. So writing a personal check for ~$2000 while waiting for a ~$2000 refund from a CC or a debit from Bilt could be a challenge for renters.
This was addressed by Richard Kerr, head of loyalty for Bilt and former writer for TPG. They will pay any late payment fees associated with a problem getting the check to your landlord. There have been some landlords that they've actually gone to fedexing the check rather than mail due to USPS issues. If anyone is interested there is a podcast that Richard does with Ed Pizzarello called Miles to Go where this has been discussed for months.
I saw a question upthread about the landlord having to be part of the network. Landlords that are part of the network just take the card and it is an ACH on their end, if they aren't part of the network a check is sent to them.
I thought very seriously about getting this card when it was first released, but I'm going to be buying a house shortly, no need for a rental card.
