Wells Fargo

I was just wondering, I don't have any cards backed by WF.  I was wondering if Dillards was the only store they have co-branded cards with?  I tried to get a regular credit card through them a few months ago and it was a no but maybe if I can atleast get my foot in the door I will have a better chance in the future.

Re: Wells Fargo

WF offers nothing spectacular enough to be jumping hurdles like this. Take it easy on the store cards and let what you have age for a bit. You'll be in "prime" range in no time! Smiley Happy

Re: Wells Fargo

^ Agreed. I have a WF Platinum which was my first card. Grateful to them for giving me a chance, and while they've been nice with CLIs, their card and rewards setup is very lackluster.

Re: Wells Fargo

I like Wells Fargo because like many others they gave me my first card with a nice limit all things considered, plus their cell phone coverage is nice. But at this point I have the cell phone bill on there and that's it, never gets used because only standard 1% back. I probably wouldn't recommend bothering with them if you don't bank with them, if you bank there they are nice and I enjoy having it linked to my account, but without a banking relationship it doesn't seem worth it, plust it's hard to get approved without a baking relationship.

Re: Wells Fargo

I got my Dillard's card on purpose because it was Wells Fargo. I have a repossession on a car through the Dealer Services. I don't know if that helps or not. But… another American Express number is always good for the Twitter offers. I did quite well on the smart and final grocery store offer early this year

I would say that the only benefit you really have with the Wells Fargo credit card is the cellphone protection, which I haven't seen or heard of on any other card as of yet, but other than that there's not anything spectacular about it. I just use it to pay my phone bill now and used to be my main card until I got my hands on cards that offered a better rewards program.

Re: Wells Fargo

Kirkland's is another store card. That's how I got into WF last year. Then I applied for WF Propel 365 Amex last year. Recently, I got approved for both WF personal and business cards.

Re: Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo in my opinon suck big time.

I was rebuidling my credit and I had a BofA secured with $500 and opened a WF secured about 6 months later with $300, I also had a FNBO with $800 and an unsecured Orchard Bank with $300 which is now Cap One. All of this was about 2+ years ago.

Since then ALL of my CC unsecured and upgraded. BofA became Rewards 1-2-3 and they just upped my CLI to 10,000 within about 6 months I got 3 increases from graduation, FNBO unsecured after 10 months upped twice to know $1350. Also within this time period I received Amex PRG & Everday, Barclay's, Discover, Amazon, Macy's, Nordstroms, etc all with considerably high CLI's (several thousands on each).

However, my WF - NADA! still at $300 secured, it been almost 2 years and it says unsecured in about a year. I called and the only thing they did is put me on a list to graduate then you get a later and it takes 60 Days to get your deposit back. BofA was instantly. WF is a joke and they blackballed me in to getting a Checking Account.

I never hear anything spectacular about them. The only reason I keep this card is because it one of the older aging cards. Once all of my new cards are aging unless WF ante's up graduates me and put a huge CL on it. I am closing it. Mind you, it did serve a purpose but I am way past that and I guess you can't grow with them like BofA who has been the most generous and most rewarding from all my cards.

My Wallet: Amex Everyday: $7000 | Amex PRG: NPSL | AMEX Business Reward: NPSL | Amex Hilton Aspire: $9300 | Amex Delta Gold: $15000 | Amex Business Plat: NPSL | BofA Cash Rewards: $22000 | Travel Rewards: $15000 | NASA FCU Advantage: $17,500 | DCU Platinum: $5000 | Barclaycard Rewards: $3500 | Capital One QS: $8500 | Capital One Platinum: $2250 | Capital One Spark: $7500 | Fidelity Bank: $3400 | Nordstrom: $16500 | Macys: $10000 | Walmart: $3300 | Amazon: $6000 | Target: $14500 | | Chevron/Texaco: $3000 | Discover IT: $4700 | Apple Card: $2450 | Citi Double Cash: $4000
