No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
For the past 10 years, I haven't had any credit whatsoever and only been using a pre-paid debit card but now ready to get back in the credit game. I want to build my credit so I can get a car loan and eventually a home loan. I applied for Discover card and was approved surpisingly. Also approved for Capital One.
What are some other credit cards that someone with no credit can easily get approved? I want to get minimum 5 accounts opened to help build my credit. But not interested in any with annual fees or security deposit as I'm not that desperate. Cashback card would be amazing. My Fico is between 650-700 depeding on agency. .
Congratulations on your Discover and CapOne approvals. I'd recommend waiting 6 months or so then see if you pre-qualify for an Apple Card.
I think opening several cards at once (like I did after my bankruptcy) could haunt you for a few years as lenders will use the excuse of opening several new accounts.
You definitely don't need five new credit cards to build your credit. What you have now would definitely be sufficient with responsible use. Discover and CapOne were going to be my first recommendations, and I would advise leaving it at that for now. But if you were so inclined, you could check the prequal site for American Express.
I would recommend not going too crazy on new applications though. With limited history, those inquiries and new accounts could ding you a bit more.
Congrats on your recent approvals and good luck!
Welcome, @acercode.
If you have FICO scores, you must have something on your credit report. If you could share that information, we could probably steer you more precisely.
Indeed, if you have scores you have credit reports that aren't empty. Knowing what kind of rewards you would like (cash back, flexible points, airline miles, etc.) and what you spend money on would be helpful to steer you into the best cards for you.
And annual fees can certainly make sense for the right goals and spending. For Amex alone, I pay almost $4000 a year in annual fees. That's not out of desperation, but because I get back a very large amount of perks and rewards worth far more.
Plenty of prequal cards available.
Check Cap One, FNBO, Amex, Apple, etc.
GL!

Since you're not desperate you might want to wait until, with the cards you already have, you've got your scores solidly at 700 or above. But a good cash back card that's not too hard to get is the American Express Blue Cash Everyday Card.
The SoFi Mastercard is good, but I don't really know if it's easy to get; I just know that I got it when my scores were not great.
I ended up applying for a few more cards cause Experian said I had excellent chances for approval. I was promptly denied. Thanks Experian for dinging my FICO by 50pts! I think I'm gonna wait several months before trying again and not rely on Experian or CK.
Thanks everyone for the advice!

I'm sure the inquiries didn't cost you 50 points. But yes, you should wait a while.
