Okay people, I need some help
I've had my secured cc for almost 2 1/2 years and they given me no increase what gives? I have never been late on payments and always paid in full each month. What can I do so that my cl goes up? I understand that my score is low but I have been a loyale customer. At this rate I don't ever see my score getting any better. I mean how does it look when the people your trying to build credit with won't give an increase. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?
if it is a secured card it will not increase unless you add more funds into the savings account that collateralizes your credit card.
the bigger question is what is on your credit reports that is holding your credit score so far down, I would really work on the repair before the building of new credit.
My reports show 1 late payment on my auto loan, and I have one charge off for 61 that is schedule to come off by the end of this year. I also have 3 delinquent that are 5 years old and a judgment that's also a couple years old. I did try to pay the judgment off but this was from an eviction in 2000 and the real estate agency no longer exist.
I guess I'm just going to have to wait until my scores gets in the 600's so that I can change the card from secured to unsecured maybe then I'll get a higher cl.
well I would ask for the judgment to be removed then if there is no company to pay.
what bank holds your credit card?
My cc are from HSBC.
How would I go about doing what you said. I'm new at this
HSBC does not graduate as far as I know, I was told mine never would, so I closed it.
you may want to try going back to there pre-qual on householdbank.com and see if your pre-approved for an unsecured credit card now that you have history with them.
as far as your judgement... if you have your most recent myfico reports you can scroll to the bottom of the page on your reports and it will have a link to "help me write a dispute" and dispute the judgement as the company is no longer in business and there is no one to pay and see if the credit agency's will delete it. you will have to dispute it with all 3 agency's
There is no such thing as a "loyal customer" in the eyes of builder cards....only opportunities and risk. And loyalty does very little for credibility.
I would suggest looking into a good credit union. They do value "loyalty" and your history with them. CU's are usually member owned, not investor owned...offer better personal services and more opportunities for you.
Rather than looking for your starter card to grow, use it as the catalyst for other credit. And a good CU, such as Alliant, PenFed, NFCU (if you qualify) are the ones who will give credit where "loyalty" is due to a degree. In every case, though, your credit, income and history are going to affect what you get in CL and CLI.
