- Used SPG Amex to book a bunch of fall travel (all at SPG hotels - bring on the Starpoints!)
- Used Venture to pay the taxes on my car (at least until taxes become a 5% category on another card ;-)
Since the beginning of this month, my Sallie Mae MC has primarily been my everyday card (gas 5X points, groceries 5X points, restaurants 3X points).
Needed a new laptop, so I used my Amex BCP to work towardt the $150 back promo. Plus 3% because I bought the laptop at Sears. ![]()

how are you getting 3X cash back at restaurants with your sallie mae?
If you're lucky, at the start of each year (maybe other periodic times too) Barclays will send you an email which gives you BONUS rewards. My mailer gave me the following:
7% cash back for gas (so an additioanl 2% CB)
5% cash back groceries (no change)
5% cash back at book stores (no change)
3% cash back at restaurants (completely new)
3% cash back at toy stores (completely new)
Pretty legit rewards system. There's been threads on it before and we haven't been able to detect any specific reason why some card members get the bonus and others don't.

i just got mine at the beginning of june so i didn't get any awesome offer
I got my SM last june as well, then got my email in January for the promo. So you may yet be selected at the start of next year!
I didn't make any strange expenditures. And I only used the card for the 5% cats.
