What card should i use for my vacation?

Im going to Italy in may....venice, florence, tuscan hills, rome and positano in that order. Im so excited i havent been there since 2003 when i was pregant with my twins. I m gonna put the tickets on the gold delta skymiles but do i open a jetblue??. And the hotels I was gonna use citi simplicty and chase freedom. And for shopping my venture. But maybe I should go for a new one??. I m going from may 11th to may 29th. Me, the twins and my other daughter are going. And its nonstop. The tickets for first class are $4609 a person. I do have enough availble on the delta and i have some miles. Let me know?? I got to order these today one way or another lol

Why not Arrival? It's 2x points on everything and you can redeem the sign up bonus ($400) back on your travel purchases --- plus you also get 10% back on redemption amounts.

Or CSP -- there is also a sign up bonus for this one as well -- both have no foreign transaction fees.

Freedom and Simplicity have foreign transaction fees right? Just curious if you've factored in those fees?

Either way, I'm jealous that you're going to Italy! I hope you have a blast! Smiley Very Happy

Arrival-  Barclays:  Also 40k signup bonus miles if you spend $3k in 3months/ NO FTF

Two of the most popular cards out there.

JPM Ritz Carlton $8k I UMP Club $8k I CSP $8k | Chase Hyatt $5k I AMEX Green NPSL I AMEX Delta $2k I Citi AA $2k | C1 QS $4.5k
BOA UNC-CH Alumni $6k I Hawaiian WEMC $3k I Arrival $6.5k I IT $1.5k | Merrill+ $2k | Lowes $12k | Apple $2k | +23more

Chase Shappire Preferred Card (CSP)

https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/sapphire-preferred-card.aspx

Barclay's Arrival

http://www.barclaycardarrival.com/premium-travel/?campaignId=1729&od=bcarrival&cellNumber=24

Both great travel cards, and if your credit profile is nice, these are two excellent cards to add to the portfolio. Especially if you are traveling.

I agree-- and I'd add both if you had a thick enough file to do it and the scores. I'm sure you could easily do the minimum spend for both of the cards to get the bonuses! Smiley Happy

Re: What card should i use for my vacation?

I'm a bit confused. The OP's signature includes "CSP 25k" and Barclay Arrival 35k. If "CSP" is the Chase Sapphire Preferred, I'd give serious consideration to putting the flights on that card rather than the Delta. Delta points have very little value at this point. You would get 2 points/dollar spent with CSP, almost 36k UR points just from the tickets. Worth way more than 36k Delta SkyMiles. Personally, I'd put all travel related expenses on the CSP and then anything non-categorized on either the Venture or Arrival (your choice, 2 cents/point either way).

If the CSP in the OP's signature line is some other card, then everything on the venture or arrival.

In wallet: Ink Plus 10k, AMEX TE 25k. In bag: CSP 16k, USAA WMC 15k, Hyatt 13k, United MPE 12k, AMEX HHonors 3k. In SD: Cap 1 QS 5k, Discover IT 7k. FICO 08 says my EQ is now 844, was 510 in 2010.

OP was just approved for the CSP & Arrival this morning, so I'm sure she'll choose the best card for airfare/ expenses.
