You've already taken the HP's! Fight for those tradelines! I didn't list CapOne, because I think they are a waste of time.

Good luck and keep us posted!

As stated before, he already called Chase and was denied.

Do I have him wait until he receives his letter of denial/approval in the mail for Barclays before calling? What does he need to say to them? I have never had any luck when I have done calls myself, so I'm probably the last person for him to ask what to say or do. LOL

But the call was part of the application process and not hte number provided here. I read many posts that confirm that Chase don't want to be the first to give credit and do not take AU as consideration. He already has the no, maybe he can turn that to yes with a 500 card.

I was just wondering this same thing.  OP, did you just call the number to find out the status of the Chase application or did you specifically dial the Credit Analyst and explicitly ask for reconsideration?  Just a word of caution, if you have not and decide to ask, they will probably pull another copy of his CR, but they will be in a much better position to approve than a front line CSR.

He definitely did not recon the Chase app according to what was said here. He specifically said his son was instructed to call in & speak with a rep to finish the app process. Upon doing so, he was denied. CALL! As far as Barclays goes, you can call them a few minutes after denial. No real need for your denial letter. They are easy to chat with and you can recon multiple times. I had opened an Arrival card 3 weeks before apping for SM, they were pretty adamant about not giving me a 2nd card so close together. I continued calling and was successful on my 4th recon attempt. These inquiries will sit on his CR for 2 years, have him make the most of them.
