I know what mortgage lenders use, Is it the same for cc companies? I know there are so many different scores variations out there. WHat I am trying to figure is when I decide to app for a card where should I check my score.
The vast majority of CC lenders use some form of FICO score to determine creditworthiness. There are multiple models for each bureau, so the score they use might not be exactly the same as the one that you get here, but it's the closest you're going to get.

They all seem to use different ones, and different versions of each one where they add in their own proprietary formulas. It is incredibly frustrating. Best thing you can do is try to get your credit report as clean as possible, have as few inquiries as possible, and keep your UTL low. You can look at www.whogavemecredit.com and I think http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?autocom=creditpulls to see what companies pulled which CBR in your state
