I'm content wth the fact that the cancellation has already been done but I was concerned about how it will make my credit report look. And I was also concerned if they would deny me credit in the future. I'm not gonna let it get me down though. My main goal is to have a healthy credit history and I do well with all my other cards and such.
no problem, we all here for each other. In terms of the reporting I think I may have told u initially but the tradeline will show up as "ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR" but this is ABSOLUTELY not a problem if your getting automated approvals via computer/online. However in the event your application requires further review by a credit analyst or underwriter, they may get curious to know why the account was closed. And again this is not a problem so long as there is a reasonable explanation to it, it doesn't even have to be valid to me. But then again there's a greater chance that even under a manual review the account will be overlooked so long as there is no negative info attached to it. Myself for instance, I currently have a closed Bank of America tradeline reporting as "Closed by credit grantor" and just last month alone I was approved for 7 new credit cards I applied for and all 7 required manual review, none was an instant online approval. Now out of all 7 creditors the only one that questioned me about the closed BOA account was Barclay. I cant even remember my response but that was it, no further questions asked. Keep doing what your doing and paying your bills on time, very soon ur mailbox gonna be bombarded with all them preapproval offers. Then it will be your turn to sit back and weed through creditors u wanna pick up or not. In regards to AMEX extending u credit in the future, my thing is so long as u didnt burn them in a charge off or bankruptcy ur more than likely to be approved for another product. And even if u did burned them, AMEX do solicit extension of credit offers to certain former members to return (I am a living witness to that). So all hopes really aren't lost in your situation ok. Wishing u all the best!!
Yes, My balance is paid and I have another balance due on the 28th so I WILL DEFINITELY make sure that is paid not a day late. The account has already been cancelled so there is nothing I can do about that but when it comes time to reapply they can see that I dont have any debt with them. Hopefully they wont judge me internally because of the 2 past the closing date that caused me to be closed in the first place. Can I ask you a few questions? How do you keep your utilization and do you pay all you balances in full even on your reveolving cards to avoid paying the interest? I've been approved for the last 3 cards that I applied for and I really like it that way...but I like to know how others like to handle their credit. Also, what is gardening mean?

Gardening refers to not applying for any type of new credit/or adding additional inquiries on your credit report for some time.
