What does it take to get a Quicksilver...

...with a 5K+ limit?

  • 0 apps on any CRA?
  • 3+ years with a card with 5K+ CL?
  • Spotless payment history?
  • AAoA over 4 years?
  • 1% utilization?
  • 760+ FICO?

Anybody know or care to guess?

Go thru the EO.

PC is easy when going that route.

Do you have Capital One currently?

Have you gone to Capitalone.com and ran pre-qual and not seen an offer come back?

Oh, I meant getting it from scratch by applying for it, not thru PC.

Re: What does it take to get a Quicksilver...

Their definition of Excellent Credit is pretty forgiving:

I have never declared bankruptcy or defaulted on a loan. I have not been more than 60 days late on any credit card, medical bill, or loan in the last year.

And

I have had a loan or credit card for 3 years or more with a credit limit above $5,000

So even a 60 day late in the last 12 months can be OK, whereas I suspect most issuers don't consider that excellent.   Also pretty sure there have been exceptions to the second clause too (although perhaps getting a CL under $5K)

I tried the Card Finder tool and rated my credit as excellent and cashback as my preferred benefit, and turns out I'm pre-qualified for the Quicksilver, VentureOne and Platinum Prestige.  I tried it again, but this time I rated my credit as average and I got the same results.

Now, what do they mean by 'pre-qualified'?
