I thought I was the only one that still had the Chase Flexible Rewards. I kept it because the APR is grandfathered at 7.9%. Chase just sent me new diclosures that the card is converting to Freedom Unlimited Visa Signature.

Very impressive grandfathered APR you have there!

@Themanwhocan wrote:And then there is the option where the card becomes even better over time. For example, the Priceline visa. It was 2% cash back, then they switched it to 1% and the existing cards were grandfathered. Then they added a 10% bonus when redeeming points for travel, and that bonus was even added to the grandfathered cards, making those 2.22% cards when points are used for travel, 2% otherwise.
The Priceline experience is what should give Sallie Mae users some hope. Barclays has continued the grandfathered rate for quite some time. Of course, they could decice to do something very different with Sallie Mae, but hopefully not.
The Citi Forward represents another possibility. After grandfathering, it can just be nerfed, without being PCd to another card.
Did the Forward finally get nerfed? It was still giving me 5x points on restaurants and movies as of my last statement.
[Late reponse!]. It gets nerfed June 4th
My Discover More Card was recently just PC'd to a Discover it card and the signup bonus of double the rewards came along with the PC as well. I called a CSR to verify if this was correct & she confirmed that it was.

Wait... WHAT?
I thought that was off the table for current Discover More card holders and that it was only a loophole for a small period of time? How recently did you PC?

They initiated it about a week & a half ago. I logged into my account one day and noticed the icon for my card was the "Discover It" icon. I clicked on manage my cards and and the Discover It card was listed as new. A few days after that I received an emailed stating that my new Discover It card was in the mail and what new benefits it comes with. I tried to post an image of the email but I don't have a clue on how to.
Depends on the bank really. The only card this has ever happened to me with is the Sallie Mae. I've had mine just over a year and just last week they gave me an auto CLI so they must not be in a hurry to get rid of this card.
Years ago I had an old Montgomery Wards card. When they went out of business I want to say "they" (IDK who the bank was) sent me a Walmart card. I just let it die. I should have kept the stupid thing open! Oh well, live and learn.
