Re: What happens when a card is switched from one network to another?

When my Banana Republic store card became a Banana Republic Visa card, it showed up as a new TL. Store card showed up as closed.

So when store cards become visa/mc, then it may be a new TL.

Or maybe it's a Synchrony thing.

Should remain the same tradeline with same history and account opened date and such. They should only change the account number. Good luck.

Correct.  When US Bank switched from MC to Visa for the Kroger CC, the same outcome occurred.  The opening date and history remained intact with the notable exception of the account number.

That is also what the analyst told me is going to happen to my BofA card as I had a MC and they are PC to a Visa Signature.

When Bank of America changed my Visa to MasterCard, my credit reports kept the same account, but it showed a different account number. They never added a second account for me.

I concur

What does that look like on my reports?

As stated above you'd have to look at your reports to answer that question or see if there are other threads posted by those who have gone through this with the REI card or other cards manged by the same creditor.  In many cases the account number changes or a second TL with the same data (aside from account number) temporarily appears and the old TL is eventually removed.  The latter is how some creditors handle card replaced when lost, due to fraud, etc.  However, not all creditors handle these matters in exactly the same way.
