I just had my GEMB/ Walmart account frozen for security concerns ie: "Using a cell phone account as my contact #" after I had and account with them for 4 years. lol. They told me to send them a copy of my home phone service bill to reinstate the account.Message Edited by Chris30324 on 08-14-2009 10:30 PM
Most people don't evan have home phones anymore they need to get over there self for real.
I have four GEMB accounts:
Walmart
Lowe's
Old Navy
Amazon.com -----> opened today
All I have is a cell phone, and it's not even in my name, it's a second line on my GF's account. I've had this for a few years. GEMB has never questioned me about anything, phone line or not. All my apps have been online. I've lived at my address for 5+ years, etc. Maybe something on your report(s) triggered the extra security? Recent or frequent address change, etc?

Having to pay for a land line is a de facto annual fee. Bogus!

Not exactly. This is a well established issue. Nothing new here.
