What is the best way to communicate with Amex CEO

I want to take up my Clear CLD issue with Amex CEO directly. What is the best way to reach Amex CEO. Any suggestions?

Probably the surest way to make contact with the CEO of American Express is to attend the next bailout hearings.

Re: What is the best way to communicate with Amex CEO

It's doubtful that the CEO has a direct consumer channel of communication.  However, you can send a certified letter, return receipt request, addressed to his name and attention at the AMEX corporate headquarters.

American Express Co.
Kenneth I. Chenault
Chairman and CEO
World Financial Center
200 Vesey St.
New York, NY 10285
212-640-2000

Chances are that some designated assistant or dept. will actually open and process the letter, but it is in the same building and has his name on it.

Here is a link to a site that has some AMEX officer/director contact info:

http://www.lead411.com/company_AmericanExpressCompany_Cenult_8974.html

I also found a blog that someone claimed this was Mr. Chenault's email address:  chenault@aexp.com or kenneth.I.Chenault@aexp.com

Not sure about it....let us know if it pans out.

Good luck! Smiley Happy

Re: What is the best way to communicate with Amex CEO

Here is some information on Mr. Chenault and his address.. In my expereince you won't get within a mile of Mr. Chenault taking any personal interest in this issue.  They have staff that will handle this and you won't get his personal attention.  Many years ago my mother-in-law was on a similar crusade with Chrysler Corporation.  She was writing letters to Lee Iaccoca about an issue that was important to her.  It may have made her feel better, and she swore off Chrysler products forever, but she got nada out of Chrysler, much less any personal attention of the CEO.  To be honest, they have more important things to do than handle individual issues.  But it doesn't hurt to try.  Unless you are suing the CEO personally AMEX has no obligation to open a direct link between you and the CEO.  Good luck.

Kenneth I. Chenault Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer
Held current title since: 2001 Director since: 1997 Officer since: 1997 Age: 57
Mr. Kenneth Chenault is Chairman of the Board of American Express Company since April 2001 and Chief Executive Officer since January 2001 and Director since 1997. He is Director, International Business Machines Corporation and The Procter & Gamble Company. Member, the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation. Re: What is the best way to communicate with Amex CEO

There was a recent post on Consumerist.com where they listed email addresses for 13 AmEx executives - followed by commenters saying that only one of the addresses worked. Someone else then posted that they'd been able to get an email through to ken.chenault@aexp.com - they got a response, but from someone on Ken Chenault's behalf, rather than from the man himself.

Here's the post with all the addresses they listed.

This post is from 2007, but lists phone numbers for AmEx "executive customer service" as well as the "executive secretary's office" - again, not Ken Chenault himself, but maybe better to talk to than a frontline CSR.

I'm sorry they did this to you, Concord. Smiley Sad

Is this serious? Do you really think he will be interested in a customer with a 5k limit in his card.? I'm not trying to talk down to anyone but put yourself in his shoes. I dont think he would care about anyone but Centurion Card holders. He wont give two dimes about average Joe's like me and you.

It was heat of the moment. I really dont care any more about this.  We customers make Amex what it is. If they dont start respecting customers, Trust me there is no one too big out there. Look to what happend to GM CEO. In a flash of second Amex CEO could be ousted like GM CEO. All thse fat bankers getting Bail Out money after they distroyed the financial system. We the customers are the most powerful peoiple other there. In my case I feel they did not play it fair. I paid off $11.5 K on an old charge off loan with the understanding they would give me a Oasis card with $5K CL. They did gave it 14 months ago. Once it is changed to Clear they did CLD to $1k. That is upsetting to me. Never late on the card or any card. If we keep worrying about every thing Amex does we are going to loose our sanity.

I agree 100% we the little people (Middle Class) make any industry. This country is about 75% middle class so they need to take care of us but it does not happen. They threat us like trash and they banrupt our country. With all this Jazz going on I'm sure they see this as positive thing. They are trying to wipe off any accounts that have had any prior deliquencies. A couple of frieds had this happen to them also they were fuming. One of them was going to pay a medical procedure when his card was denied. He called everyone and their mothers at Amex and nobody even offered an aopology. They simply did not care the message was if you dont like it cancel the card. They rather have accounts canceled than take the risk at this point. That how sad this country and the economy is this point. People rather loose buisness than take risk of offering credit. Not just credit card industry wide basically every industry has pretty much ZERO tolrance for debt with this times.

What happend to all the billions and trillions of dollars these fat banks getting in the bailout? Are they supposed to lend to customers or get them self fat bonuses? I dont understand how they can treat good paying customers like this after they get trillions in bailout funds. That is our tax money.
