Are you guys sure there is only one 7-10 day message that exists?  I keep hearing about "the" 7-10 message like the presence of 7-10 can only mean one thing.  But in my mind "7-10 days for a decision" is much different from "Cannot approve you, wait 7-10 days for the reasons".  I have only seen the latter myself.

They never actually said the reason why I got it. I personally think it was because I submitted 2 applications for 2 different cards within seconds of each other. I probably should have waited later in the day to put in the second application. They ended up pulling my credit 2 times for each agency giving me a total of 6 inquiries.

Ugh that was my next question. Guess I will only app for venture and Amex Ed, I don't want 3 hp on ex. 😁

I would say on average I lose about 2-3 points per hard pull.

I paid off all my cap1 cards in full 10 minutes before applying, but my $20k Venture approval letter came in the mail saying that my EQ was 678 at the time of approval...

But... it's a good card. What's not to like about 2%... not to mention the sign on bonus and that you can get it twice...
