What's your problem GE?!?!?!

All I ever seem to read about on this forum is how GREAT GE is with giving out exponetial CLIs. Well apparently they haven't gotten the memo on my accounts. I received all of my accounts back in Nov '13. Chase SWA $5000 starting CL just increased to $7500 today, Cap 1 $300 starting increased to $1800 April 5th, and now for the GE Cards. Wally starting $600 increased to $800, Sam's Club starting $937 CLI denied. I even added a Marriott Rewards card in Feb '14. No clue what all the uproar about GE is, but if there were any fee involved with either of those cards they would be canceled. As for now, it's off to the SD for the GE cards.

It does seem like you're overdue for some CLI between the 2 cards.  A lot of the uproar over GECRB dates back to before they were preparing to spin off their portfolio.  As soon as that news hit, it seems they've tightened up the purse strings a bit.

Re: What's your problem GE?!?!?!

Are you using your Wal-Mart card much? GE seems to like heavy usage

Re: What's your problem GE?!?!?!

GECRB is no fan of mine, either.  I did manage to squeeze a single $600 CLI out of my Amazon store card which I used to use heavily, but that was it.

Re: What's your problem GE?!?!?!

GE likes heavy card users who max out the cards every month. Especially if you don't PIF every month and carry a maxed balance. I feel like their system of CLIs is to encourage their borrowers to spend more each month by increasing their CL. I have the Amazon store card and did heavy usage in college and got 3-4 CLIs, I haven't touched it in 10 months and did a CLI request and got denied.

Re: What's your problem GE?!?!?!

I've never maxed my GE cards out nor carried balances for a long time. When I did have balances I paid large payments on them. I had a zero balance on my Wally card and more than doubled the CL when I called credit solution, the same for Amazon. My Lowe's card was the only one with a balance on it. I had just bought a new washer/dryer set so had ~$2k on it. They also more than doubled my CL on that one as well.

It seems like for every 100 people that have monumental success with GE there are 5-10 people with limited to no success with them.

I think most get disappointed and have little patience due to the fact from all the success threads posted. Just be more patient use your cards pay them down and call GE credit solutions. If that doesn't work then rinse/repeat.

A lot of people seem to be impatient and expect huge CLI's almost immediately from GE, but if you out in your time then by 12mths or so they usually grow very quickly.

Learning from my past and rebuilding..

GECRB will only give CLIs every fourth statement.  If there isn't activity then a statement doesn't cut with them, therefore, no CLI.  Also, like everything else, it's a YMMV.

Re: What's your problem GE?!?!?!

I use them both almost to the limit each month, let the balance report, then pay after the statement cuts. I did PIF this month becuase I am planning on apping for Discover and Sallie Mae after all the accounts report to CR. No big deal, I sure won't lose any sleep over it, but it is definitley off to the SD.
