Don't feel bad....looks that Chase loves you. I just got off the phone with the Freedom team asking to PC to a Signature card (my only non Siggy or non WMC) but Chase denied ...asked if I could PC to the Sapphire (of course just temporary because it is a Siggy -- of course did not mention this) and then PC back to Freedom (was my idea) but also change to Sapphire is no option... Oh well... that goes along with the 22,99% APR Chase gave me...Chase tells me to apply for a new Freedom card now... this must be a joke and I honestly thought I did not hear right. Live goes on without Freedom Siggy ...ha ha

They have been very good to me and I plan on taking good care of them as well. Looking to add CSP as a Christmas present for myself come December.
I was expecting my GE cards to really grow after reading about most of the success that board members were having with them. This is my history with them -
BD = backdoor call
Some of you might remember my other posts about not being able to get a CLI from GE. I try every few months. Tried again a coupe of weeks ago and as usual, I was denied. My letter arrived yesterday with the following reasons listed -
Too many serious derogatory items (too is how they spelled it )
Months since most recent delinquency
Total account balances excluding mortgages are too high in proportion to credit limits
Too many derogatory accounts or public records
I have to laugh when I read this. First I'm wondering if a person actually typed this or if it was generated by a computer that needs to learn what the word too means. Next, for my account balances, my total utilization was about 4% when I tried. And if they went off of a report that was a couple of months old, utilization then was about 5-8%. Any derogs are over 4 years old. I wish there was an actual person that matters that I could talk to there. I've called the EO office before. The people that I've spoken to there pretty much told me that they didn't know why and that I'd receive a letter. This is really becoming kind of amusing. Meanwhile, my other accounts continue to grow and I have no problem getting loans. I don't have perfect credit but there hasn't been anything bad for years.

I had a similar experience. Use it a little and you will notice that when you do actually get a CLI with GE it will be quite large. I have so many denial letters that I simply want to tell them don't bother to send them, but it's ok I just recycle them! I am not defined by my failures, I choose to remember the successes.

Walmart - Approved - 8/24/12 - $600. - 11/24/12 (Auto - CLI) - $700. (BD - no - 5/14/13) (BD - no - 9/29/13) (Luv button - no- Jan '14)JC Penny - Approved - 9/22/12 - $200. (BD - no - 9/29/13) - 12/15/13 - $400. (Auto) 3/29/14 - $750. (Auto)I'm probably missing one denied request for each of them. I get denied by them so much I start to feel like I'm married to GE! My JCP card gets a decent amount of use. I've gone months without using it then had some months when it went close to the limit. Especially when it was only $200. I was surprised to see the two auto-CLis recently. For Walmart, I use it sometimes. As with JCP, I can go months without using it. I started to use it more last month and will for the next few to see if that helps. This is something that I posted about them in March -Some of you might remember my other posts about not being able to get a CLI from GE. I try every few months. Now that is funny!!!!!
When I was reading your resons for denial I thought I was reading the one I had just received. Your experience pretty well mirrors mine. If it were Chase I might lose some sleep, but not over GE.

My CLI experience with my Walmart card is quite funny last time I used it was last November to buy a case of soda. Card was opened in June. I tried for CLI every few months or so with no success. I recently just tried without even using card since last November.I got an CLI that more than doubled my credit limit, so weird lol

I agree. I've had a lot more success without using the card from GE than with.
@Longroad wrote:All I ever seem to read about on this forum is how GREAT GE is with giving out exponetial CLIs. Well apparently they haven't gotten the memo on my accounts. I received all of my accounts back in Nov '13. Chase SWA $5000 starting CL just increased to $7500 today, Cap 1 $300 starting increased to $1800 April 5th, and now for the GE Cards. Wally starting $600 increased to $800, Sam's Club starting $937 CLI denied. I even added a Marriott Rewards card in Feb '14. No clue what all the uproar about GE is, but if there were any fee involved with either of those cards they would be canceled. As for now, it's off to the SD for the GE cards.
Don't feel bad OP...
I've had 4 GE cards ($7500 Care Credit, $500 Chevron, $500 76, $600 Walmart) for 6 months each... used monthly $20-$100 per month and PIF monthly except for the first 3 months of Walmart when I carried a 0% promotion balance... then PIF since.
You know what I've got out of the deal? Walmart gave me a $100 auto CLI last week.
Gee thanks... $100.
I've hit the luv button on my 2 gas cards and get the same canned response denial letter with a soft pull credit report from November 20th. Makes no sense.
I can get a $1000 increase from Barclay but get $100 from GE. Whatever... and don't tell me to call India Credit Solutions either. A complete and total waste of time. If I have to max out the cards and carry a balance every month they can keep their CLI.

Of the cards that are backed by GE, are there any that tend to have a higher limit? Like you have a $7500. Care Credit limit while the others are in the $500-$600 range. I think I've noticed that people post that their Lowe's limits are pretty good. Haven't seen anyone say they only had a $500. limit.
This link might be helpful. It has a list of cards that are backed by GE -
