They CLI denied me again on Amex Blue. I have a lowly 1k limit. My highest limit is 17.5k (PNC Flex). They said my FICO EX is 696. What score do I need before I can ask for a 3k limit?!
Secondly, will they still deny me if my score increases but I have too much available credit?
Thanks!
How long did you had the card? Do you have their charge products also? My advice, dont push too hard for the CLI's on their credit cards. Too many requests can lead to FR and block of the card usage. They did it to me couple of years ago when I pushed for the cli. It is not worth wasting your time with FR and head ache. If you badly want the cli and if you are willing to go through FR then go for it.
I've had the card since 2007 or 2008. No charge products for me. Just the Amex Blue. I guess I'll wait at least 6 months before trying again. It's not that big of a deal. I have a lot of avail credit. This lowly CL just irks me!

Get your self one of their charge products like Zync with no-preset spending limit and push the charges through it and pay it off in full. That helps you to build the spending relationship with Amex and when you ask for CLI they look at your overall credit and spending patterns with them and makes it easy when you ask for CLI.
Hmmm, that's an interesting approach. Do you think I would be approved? I am supposed to garden at this point. My EX has around 10 INQ due to new accounts and CLIs. My available credit is over 70k. Thoughts?

Their Zync is easiest to get card and also the fact you are an existing Amex customer they will look at your application with a different criteria than regular applicants. Give it a try to apply and see what happens. What do you have to loose at this point?

You want to share some of the available credit?
Haha, sure fusion! How much do you need?

Since you are an existing Amex customer they will do soft to see if you are approved. If you are approved then there will be a hard inq and if it is not approved then there will be no hard inq. You dont have much to loose by applying at this time.
Oh wow, that's good to know. Maybe this will be the last trigger I pull before I REALLY get to gardening! Thanks so much, concord!
