@IgnatiusReilly wrote:This has been an interesting thread and although thus far everything has been anecdotal, I think the one thing we can all agree on is that Synchrony hasn't exactly covered themselves in glory.
1. The $500 SL to $10k recon makes absolutely no sense.
2. The way Synch is just shutting off cards (assuming cardholder is current, etc.) can be devastating to customers... imagine being in the midst of travel (or settling up at a restaurant) and having to scramble for plan B.
3. Synch has been, it seems to me, stonewalling cardholders trying to find out what the hell is going on.
I get it, if a bank is going to take AA they do it before they stand to lose more and have to do it quickly. If a bar owner tells me he is stopping my bar tab in an hour and throwing me out for good after that, I am drinking double 25 y/o MacCallan until I pass out. I have nothing to lose at that point except consciousness.
Whether it is 1,000 or 100,000 cardholders Synch is going to have some explaining to do. I don't follow social media, so I am curious if those getting cut are expressing their displeasure via Facebook or Twitter. And to be honest, I don't care enough to check.
Beautifully put and I agree.
I get the why ! I don't at all get the How!!!
I think that they are just making it worse by handling their AA's this way.
I am feeling the same way...I haven't even gotten STARTED with them and they already shut me down...I can't believe that other people that have been with them are going through this as well. I called again and a rep in Fraud Prevention told me that "If it were just a 4506-T, they could tell me that. There's nothing confidential about that." Ok, so what is in these letters that you CAN'T seem to tell me? I'm baffled about that...If I don't get a letter by Saturday, I'M CLOSING ALL OF MINE. They told me the SAME THING-"We mailed you out a letter on the 3rd of July." Well, what if I were in the dentist's office, preparing to get my procedure done, and found out too late that my CareCredit card was blocked?
What's funny about all of this-THEY AREN'T SENDING OUT ANY EMAILS, NOR ARE THEY MAKING ANY CALLS....They are simply "BLOCKING AND PASSING." Blocking the accounts, passing the ball to the CSR's who have to deal with the anger. I will keep you posted on my situation; I'll post something by Sunday. If I don't have the letter by Saturday, then you'll definitely know SUNDAY what happened.

At this point, as far as I am concerned, Sync can FOAD. They told me last week that they mailed me a letter on 7/3. That was a flat out lie. There is no way I wouldn't have gotten it in the mail, period.
I just called them and closed ALL of my accounts. I don't NEED them at alll.
And they can't just TELL ME what they want from me on the phone. I have to wait for the nonexistent letter. I pay my bills early. The least they could've done was be HONEST AMD FORTHCOMING with me, their customer
I cant say that I blame you what so-ever.
Yes you should of had that letter already.
Plus, I dont get why they just keep regurgitating you are getting a letter in the mail.
Very poor customer service.

Would you please separate your sentences into paragraphs and use spacing between paragraphs? It is very difficult to read your posts when it all runs together. Thanks!
Sure. I will double space my sentences next time. I didn 't realize that it was that hard to read since no one else said anything about not being able to read it. No problem. Was this better for you?
Lots of good adds to this thread. Thanks to everyone.....

LOL... wiseguy!
I didn't say anything myself, but if it's not too much trouble it would speed up things considerably. I think it's not that we can't read your text, it just takes longer because there are no breaks.
We're not being 'snarky'... it's just that the stuff you're writing is very useful, and we want to make sure we don't miss any of it.

I am so glad I did not app on my mini spree with Synchrony.
I think I lost respect for them... they totally have the cardholders in the closet until some infamous letter that must of been sent by snail express.
I could not imagine the humility of the card being declined at a business function, vacation, dental work etc.
Its like the card holder has not any choice but to accept the humilation of it all.. until there is that one person that Synchrony should not of done this too.. ie a lawyer or something.
Well to those that shut down your cards or get them shut.. I hope that you don't lose to much utilization etc.
I am curious of those that get shut down ... what are your obstacles or successes of apping afterwards.
Good News ! myFICO may get a lot more new subscribes while they are googling to see what is going on with their Synchrony CC's
Bad News ! We are going to get some Garden Wall Jumpers that are going to want to app just in case they get the squeeze or the freeze.
Oooh maybe we will have to start a thread - called the Synchrony Victims Replacement Apps !
Bwahhhh
Sorry I had to do some Comic Relief!

Please keep us posted the outcome. I think they are running out of cash ( like a fat cow running out of milk)
