I have been working hard to improve my credit scores after some business issues in 2004. I have one secured card, a mortgage that has been paid for 1.5 years, a car loan, and a secured CD loan. I am now trying to get a unsecured credit card and want to know if I can get one with my current scores.
No derrogatories or collection accounts.
Thanks...
Yes, try Discover, GE Captial, AMEX. Stay away from Chase Bank. Good luck!!!

Thanks for the replys. I iwent on a terror tonight. I was approved for a gas card, a Macy's card, a capital one card, and a first premier card. I know I will have to wait 6 months or more for a good impact but it was worth it.
I have pending approvals for Discover card and USBank card. I was denied an Amex Green card.
BTW, I know some of you might rag me for so many credit apps in one day, but I heard that it's better to apply for a lot of credit in a short time frame, so I went for it.
I am probably an idiot, but at least all these new credit accounts will make a difference in the long run. I hope I am right.

Nah you aren't an idiot...you are credit savvy
however why did you apply for a premier card? why would you need them when you got approved for some nice cards
I figured the more the better since I was going to get dinged for inquires.
What do you think is the minimum time I should keep these accounts open?
I don't plan on using more than 10% of the credit line and that is only to keep them active.
Thanks..
I am only going to rag on you about the First Premiere. Your credit is too good for that card. It is definitely not worth it.
You might be able to get approved for Amex Zync with your scores.
Ron.

I would recommend to call Premier when you get the card so they can refund the AF. If you decide you truly want the card...call back after a day or two and tell them you want to reinstate the card. Hopefully the person you speak with doesn't tack on the AF back on.
