I have received my two first 'non-toy/secured' cards in August (1K and 1.5K). Hopefully they grow. For those that were in a building or re-establishing phase, how long did it take to get your first serious limit cards? Or did you CLI the ones you already had?
Amex was the first one to put me over 2K. They gave me $3K or $3.5K. It was a revolving card and I loved it. Wish they'd let me back in. Anyhow, In 2004 I started cleaning my credit up. I obtained some store cards as well as Capital One. I didn't get the Amex until 2009. However, I think I gave up on credit for awhile and that's why it took so long for me to obtain better bankcards. Wish I knew about myFico several years ago!
The first highest CL that I got was from Dell Financial Service (DFS) back in '02 and that was my first $5k limit.
My First 2k CC and I kinda dont like to say it but it was Cap One
i still have the card and got it upgraded to QS One and it still has that ridiculous AF that I want to get rid of
If memory serves me correct I started out with a 350 CL and I read somewhere that if i continue to make payments for 6 months they will always review to give me CLI
which i made really sure i made payments on time or sooner and within a few months it grew from 350 to 700 to 2500 and 7 years later still stood at 2500
I asked for my first ever CLI with them this past month and got rejected and i emailed EO thru facebook to complain about the AF n CLI
I closed my 2nd cap one cause they wouldn't CLI it and id idn't know about EO at the time
Discover More (now IT) gave me $2k starting limit 6 months after my first BOA secured card.
