Hi everyone,
have loved this forum for like 11 years now lol...
my siggy isn't updated, but on Aug 1 I opened a Quicksilver Cap One card just to make my life easier with the flat 1.5% CB.
got approved with a 14,000 CL (also have 17 years or so of history with capital one) and was shocked, but nonetheless I need a higher limit lol.
So far I've been using about 60% of the limit every month and paying in full, and this month I went back to paying before the statement cut cause I'm gonna go for Citi Double cash in a month or two.
So, I never thought too much about it.. BUT when does Cap One do CLIs on newer accounts?
Like how long do I need to wait? I've already put in two requests that were SP, and they said "account too new". I'm an impatient person as many of us are here. I'm glad that after a decade and a half of never defaulting with C1 that I got such a tremendous approval out the gate, BUT I don't want to get stuck at 14k with them.

if you weren't graced with an extremely rare extremely early 0-1 month CLI from their highest bucket venture X level accounts, you'll likely have to wait the full 6 months/statements before a CLI will be granted
just keep trying every time a statement generates as it's just a SP based on their account pulls
Congrats on your nice SL!
Congrats on your approval & SL 🎉🎉🎉
Wait until after the the 6th statement has posted before requesting an CLI.
Congratulations on your approval and great starting limit! Usually Capital One will allow you to get a limit increase every 6 months with a decent amount of the limit being used, and it's always a soft pull. Best wishes to you next time you try! I'd say with the amount you spend each month you should likely get a limit increase approval once your account is no longer being considered too new by Capital One!
When it's time to request a CLI, what's the best answer for reason for request and for how much will you spend on this card? Do you need to put an amount close to or over the amount you're requesting?
Thanks.. yeah I figured at least six months.. but I had seen some YT vids where this one guy got started at a 15k CL on QS and somehow got 1k cli after like 30 days two times in a row.. by putting he expected higher spending.
bahhh... either way, thanks everyone for 'grats on the SL. def noticed AAOA has a big impact on getting higher limits straight out the gate. I have been running it up to 60/70% util and PIF, but bc I have a little sprree planned in a few months, I'm gonna only let 1000 or 2000 report on statement and continue to PIF. I've gotten so much cashback already!! yee!!!!
