When to ask for a CLI?

Right now i can ask for a CLI on my citibank because the next statement is on the next cycle but i have a few cards that i paid off that report in a few days to a week. Should i ask for a CLI now or wait until all is said and done? Also should i wait to apply for new cards until these new increases report?

Re: When to ask for a CLI?

Wait until all is said and done and remember its a HP in most cases YMMV tho

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Recently Citi has done some SP CLI's but its hit or miss

Discover call and ask if you have any SP CLI's if they can't they'll ask to pull a HP at which point you can go yay or nay

BofA HP

Merrick not sure sorry

Re: When to ask for a CLI?

Another question to ask yourself (very rarely asked here!) is "Why do I need a CLI?", especially on multiple cards.   Are you near your limits?  Is utilization bringing down your score (in a way that you cannot fix by paying before statement cut, perhaps because you have a balance)?

People seem to think that they have to have lots of CLIs, and while it might make you feel "luv"'d, that doesn't make it essential!
