Which AMEX cards earn Membership Rewards points? Also, are there any with no AF that are not business cards? (I do not own a business and therefore do not qualify for the Blue Business Plus card?)
Additionally: can anyone please explain how the AMEX Membership Rewards points cards operate exactly, for instance can they be redeemed for cashback or for statement credits? Thanks! ![]()
Former cards:DMB Titanium MC @ 90-day, 0% grace period | $4k BEFCU MC @ 5.49% F | $21.9k Citi DPR @ 5.99% F | Chase Platinum MC @ Prime+1.67% |

Not currently any available for application. They removed the AmEx EveryDay card (in my sock drawer in my sig) from apps last Fall, although there is an assumption that they will bring back a refresh or another alternative.
And no, you can't redeem MRs for cashback or statement credits unless you have specific brokerage affiliated charge cards you get outside of AmEx themselves.

I just checked my account and it does allow using points for statement credits, but at 10,000 points = $60 the redemption rate is horrible. In any case with most cards where points to be used as credits, it's not the best way to use those points.

Worth noting the point redemption rate increases to 10,000 = $80.00 if you redeem to a personal AmEx checking account.
The Amex Rewards Checking account pays a few points.

Yes you technically can exchange them for statement credit but it's one of the worst redemption options by far.
MR points should be redeemed for 2cpp minimum and their statement credit is .6 cpp for normal Platinum, .8cpp if you have an Amex checking, and 1.25cpp for the Schwab Platinum.

Yup, 1 MR for every $2 spent with debit card. Better than nothing?
I don't know, I seldom use it. I opened the account for a $250 bribe.

Except that you should just get a 1% debit card at that point 🤦♀️

This seems like a good, free way to keep your MR account open!
