I have 8 accounts w/ balances
1 zales
1 dell
6 student loans (1 for each year and 2 others)
What is funny is the Dell account is actually CITI Financial services. I have had the account since September 2008 with no lates at all. Nothing bad on that account.
There is also a CITI cc that shows on my report from 2007. I am thinking this one is my dad's where I beleive I am a AU. He has excellent credit and PIF every month.
Did they pull your report every time?
If I call again will it be another inquiry?
What # did you call?
I called 888-201-4523

That was the same number I called. Maybe because we tried today. My guess is they are mad because everyone else in the bank got today off. I am going to try again tomorrow. I don't think they pull another report on a recon.

If I call the backdoor # and they ask for SS#, ADDRESS, ETC... is it another hard pull or no?
Another hard pull is not worth it there basically just gonna be looking at the same information. If you can't get them to recon with the first pull i would just take it at a lost an move on.
I called and talked with another rep.
They said it was declined for revolving accounts. I was shocked and explianed everything. They said to apply for the gas card.
Then I told them I have a CITI cc with them that I don't even remember applying for. Has $0 balance and never even got in the mail. Never used. CL of $3,500. I spoke with someone regarding that card and they told me it was the MTVU card for students. Apparantly I got the card when in college. Anyways, I gave them my address and they are re-sending the card with another # on it. I won't use that card because I am no longer in college but they said I could transfer that card to another one.
I should be getting the cc in the next week. When I get it, should I try and convert it to the EXXON/MOBILE MC?
The other rep said I may have been declined because I have a CC with them already that has not been used.
Any help
Thanks
craig-
the acct with dell is NOT citi..it's CIT who does dell and bill me later and fingerhut..so it's not CITI..but CIT I know it's very close and can be confusing!
Any advice on converting? Maybe I will get approved for the Exxon
Thanks
I looked and they pulled EQ.
I am wondering if I was declined because they first said that the information may be incorrect and to mail in a copy of my report. Well, after looking at my CR on Equifax my last name is spelled wrong! Maybe this could be the reason?
I am waiting for my MTVU card to come in the mail and then hopefully I am able to convert that to the EXXON/MOBILE. The MTVU card has never been used and has a CL of $3,500.
Any help?

I think they have some illiterates working there because my first name is spelled wrong. I have tried for well over a year to get them to change the spelling too, even using the MyFICO dispute letter I printed and mailed them. No luck. But maybe you are on to something. The two CC's that pulled EQ for me in California denied me right away. No waiting period, no nothing.
