Which CCC's generally offer the highest initial CL?

Which credit card companies are usually generous with their initial credit lines?  And how much were you approved for?

Citi, BofA, Amex, WaMu all tend to offer generous CLs if you already have other high CLs reporting.

In my experience, I'd remove AMEX from the list and add Chase.

Our credit union gave my wife a whopping 25K CL and she only has one Cap1 card with a $1,500 CL that was one year old.  No other credit on her report and her score with Experian was 701 at the time she got it.

I always hear good things about the credit unions so I'd assume they almost always offer high CL's (I could be wrong though).

Generally, yes, but not always.  Some credit unions are stingy.

For example, WaMu gave me $15K on a Real Rewards MC, but Delta CCU only gave me $1K on their lowest tier Visa.

Sadly in my line of work, I don't qualify for any CU.  And i'm not related to anyone who i could go through to get into the CU either.

If you live somewhere there is probably a local CU, and there are national ones you can also join

I would include Amex in the list. They just gave me $9,000. My next highest card is Orchard at $800.

Penfed CU is open to all who join their Military Family Assoc for a meager $25 + $5 to fund their Savings Share Account

My initial CL was my own requested $25k and for 60-90 days you can go on app spree on penfed and they will use just that ONE EQ pull they did on initial app.

So I requested CLI after 30 days on the Gas card (5%) and got a whopping approval for $35k

(I think 40k is max I didnt want to request that much in fear of denial)

Hey SG if you dont mind me asking what was your scores @ time of approval for that generous CL also I have heard that they almost always pull EQ and they frown bigtime on recent apping sprees @ time of applying did you have many INQ"S. I have like 5 on EQ the newest 1 mos ago oldest 15mos 2 others 9 mos ago. I would like to join a CU I have no family or job that offers it to me SO it is easy to join this CU 25 + 5 dollars and your in. Any input you would be willing to share would be great.My scores are very good high 700"s Thanks In advance
