Re: Which card(s) should I close?

When are your AF's due on the HSBC cards?
I would start and finish with these.

They will refund a AF if closed within 30 days of the AF.
No CLI on you 1 year with these guys?

Don't count Junny until you have had it for 6 months- they do all kinds of crazy stuff.

Re: Which card(s) should I close?

Just had the Orchard fee applied last month and paid it.
No AF on Direct Rewards.

No CLI on the direct rewards; do you know if Orchard & HSBC can be combined.  I read that 2 HSBC's can be, but not sure if they will with Orchard.

Thanks for the Juni advise; I read on this forum they're a bit screwy.

Re: Which card(s) should I close?

Here's what i have.  All have been applied and received within the last 2 months.

Orchard - $500
Cap 1 - $1,000
AMEX Delta Gold - $1,000

The only other revolving card is an Express store card at $250.  Had this for about 8 year.

Should i keep the Orchard for now?  I haven't even used it yet but it is activated.

Thanks!

Re: Which card(s) should I close?

I'd hang onto it for a bit-

Capone should auto CLI you in a few months-

Get your Delta up to 3 to 5K in 6 months-

Then consider shutting down the HSBC- I might even get a pack of gum or tank of gas and PIF it- just to show some activity-

Re: Which card(s) should I close?

I called Orchard, they will not refund my $79 AF since I paid it.  They gave me a CLI of $1,000.  I'll have to remember to cancel before AF is due next year.   I was considering closing the Direct rewards & Target store card, they would not give a CLI

Unless HSBC recently changed their Terms and conditions-

They WILL credit an AF (paid has nothing to do with it) within 30 days.
