Which is a better deal (another points/cash question)?

To be used for advance purchase, coach class, domestic flights:  $1200 cash rewards or 92,000 Amex MR points?

if you use points your getting about 1.3 cents per point, isn't the worst redemption but far from the best, i think cash should be the way to go

Right, but depends on future plans.  Do you see that you will be using those points in a "better" way at some time in the future?   If so it makes sense to use cash now and use the points in a way that earns more than 1.3c.   If you don't plan such travel, or if paying the $1200 is a stretch, maybe use the points.   Keeping points for a long time is usually bad, as they suffer devaluation quite often
