White Amex?

Good morning y'all,

My wife just received a white colored (plastic) Amex card in the mail today which I have not seen before.... I currently have the Amex Platinum card and she is currently an authorized user on my account. The original card she was sent back in 2017 was a gold one and it's about to expire next month. As a replacement, she was sent a white Amex instead. Does anyone else have this card or know what this is all about? I guess I can call Amex directly to find out but I thought I'd share here first 🙂

Only white amex's I know of are the Zync (very od school card which still some have but has been discontinnued to new applicants) and I believe a debit card for business checkig I believe

I was also going to bring up the Zync card which was only around for a couple of years before they axed it for new applicants. I would call Amex if for no other reason to satisfy my own curiosity. I'd be interested to find out what they tell you about it.

That is the new free Amex authorized user card for the Platinum that is replaceing the old companion gold card to clear up confusion. It was announced with the AU fee increase last month.  It is now called the Companion Platinum.

This would make sense, appreciate the info.

it was because calling it the companion gold or whatever was confusing since it had no benefits of the normal gold card
