Does anyone have any information on the White House Credit Union?
I'm interested in their gold visa card comes with an apr as low as 6.25% and it applies to purchases, balance transfers and cash advances.
State Dept CU is 6.99. I know Apple FCU is lower but there is no backdoor membership

It's Prime + 6.25 so 9.5%
Barclaycard Ring MC is only 8%
Thanks! I guess i didn't realize that..
I should probably get the Ring MC then!
Is there any more exclusive CU than The White House CU?
It looks like you either have to work on the WH campus, or be related to someone who does, and you can't just make a $20 donation to a presidential library to get membership. Or you could get elected President.
I have no idea about the WHCU, but I kinda want one now just because of its connotation.. ![]()
Savings and loan rates are not that good - DCU, PenFed and NFCU are all better.
From what I've seen, smaller credit unions are not that great compared to larger ones, such as Dept of Labor FCU has been around for a long time but they are tiny compared to DCU, PenFed and NFCU, etc. The larger the CU the better the rates and more often they say "yes" to CC's and other loans.
I have current membership(s) in PenFed, DCU, Congressional FCU and NASA FCU - recently closed DOLFCU and Dept of Commerce FCU.
Just my 2 cents....

For flexibility, the CUs rock. I have acocunts at PenFed, DCU, Congressional FCU and a small local one in my town.
Of all the CUs, Congressional FCU has been the best for me. There is a back door (I think) to get membership. And the credit card is at 8.5% and LOC at 11.9%. They also did auto-CLI for me from $7500 to $10k at just over 1 year.

Don't see a general back door for Congressional. Have to be in one of 100+ groups, but nothing by donaton that I can see.
