PITA'S.  DH was THREE DAYS late on ONE PAYMENT and the phone calls began.  I've noticed a couple of pulls since then...they watch very closely.

Hey, I thought I'd seen your name here and there...

LOL, can't believe you haven't come across any HSBC threads here! Their parent company in London is a great bank, but they seem to have bought some marginal US card companies to get into the market here. There are rumors of the phantom "great HSBC card," but no confirmed sightings. Maybe you've found it!

Every now and them, someone posts happy things about HSBC, but most of the time, the verbs found on these threads are "melt" and "shred."

Was offer through their parent company HFC?  If so, I received the same offer and accepted it Wednesday.  Didn't accept the full LOC (just $5000), at the hijack rate of $24%.  However, it was the easiest way to get a loan without a credit check check and really helps with paying off some of my other debt.  They also pre-qualify you for an HSBC card at 0% for 6 months, however they cannot confirm the terms.  They just go over all of them with you.

I think read somewhere that HSBC stands for HongKong Singapore Banking Corporation.

It's the other way around.  HSBC is the parent company of HFC (Household Finance Corp).

I don't believe HFC has any cards of their own.  They are all standard-issue HSBC, Direct Merchants, or Ochard Bank cards.  They do offer other credit products under the HFC name, though.
