Who else Discover

I opened up my Discover May 25th and as of right now i still can not use it cause they have protection put on it waiting for ID validation from IRS it has been almost a month now since i received it.
Anyone else have the same problem when they applied n approved for Discover?

Not personally.

Discover is known for requesting IRS info from some over the last few years.

Sometimes it is for new card just after opening, other times it seems to be triggered by CL increase request, and many have received them just at random. Discover seem to have no pattern as to who, why or when. The delay is highly likely to be the IRS. It probably seems like for ever.

Some have reported an option to provide other documentation to prove ID or income, yet others denied anything except IRS report. I would call after one month and ask if another way of being validated is available. All they can say in no.

I didn't have this with my new Discovrer card but they gave me a modest SL.

Just talk to discover and now they are telling me it could take another 3 weeks to verify me from IRS, i told them they have 2 weeks otherwise i close my account and owe them nothing since i have not been able to use the CL yet.
It blows that a person can not send in pict of SS# and other information to get verified. Rep told me it is not verifying income which i think is a total lie.
