All my information is correct on all three credit reports. My current address is there. But menards needs ID, paystub, and W2. Discover needed ID and SS card. Wal-Mart needs a notarized identity statement. Simmons Bank needs ID and copy of title or insurance policy.
Is this a new thing for credit cards, because I don’t remember doing these sorts of identity verification 10 years ago. Could there be something wrong with my credit report that could be triggering this? There’s no fraud alert on my reports. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?
Yes! Before and after placing a fraud alert with CRA's however not all banks made me submit info as you've stated... I'd double check your credit reports also make sure the address your entering for apps reflects whats on your credit reports best of luck.
Are you failing the online ID verification questions? The questions they ask you aren't from your credit report. Typically they use something like LexisNexis or another third party database. Perhaps you should request your info from LN:

I was also wondering if you failed the online verification multiple choice qustions? It'll ask you to pick which address you have ever lived at and you might not have lived at any of them. Or phone numbers from 20 years ago. Seems very few people pass those.
Do you have a popular name? Multiple names and addresses listed on your reports? That's my problem with verifications sometimes. When I got in with Discover, they just wanted me to email a copy of my last statement from another bank that showed my name and address matched. I never actually had to fax an ID .
