You would have to ask them why they don't do it.  From my experience I always feel that AMEX is more interested in security than MC and Visa.

Watchmann is correct about security concerns with Amex. Amex doesn't report my account numbers too, neither does FIA and some of my other creditors.

Credit reports. Some creditors will report part of your card number on your reports and XXXXXX out the rest.
