Re: Why will no one give me CLI

As to Citi, not everyone will receive cli or every 6 months. Im heading into year 3 on my DC and even with sp language , i can't get any cli. Income plays a role as does overall exposure which i believe is my holding back factor. Chase is well known for giving a sl they deem you worthy of and sticking to it. Auto luv is rare despite what you read here. $500 with Chase is just getting in barely.

Re: Why will no one give me CLI

No mortgage. Lots of late payments, most are 4 years old. But time since most recent late payment is March of last year. So the end of next  month would make a full year of on time payments. And a few CO's. Most recent is from 2015. I have a ton of HP's and I know they are keep my scores down. That's why I wanted to only go with Soft pull Cli . I have 32 HP's right now. September 1st 28 of them will fall off. Oldest account is 11yrs 4m. AAoA 5yrs 8m. I have seven installment loans 4 student loans. 2 car loans and 1 personal loan. I just opened the personal loan up for this past Christmas. I paid it off last Friday. But since showing active.

DR527,

I think we have an answer to the original question.  Also, a late payment of less than 1 year is still very recent in a creditor's eyes.  I think what you need is some time.

Re: Why will no one give me CLI

I had the other cards for whole lot longer and never moved up from my SL. And then Citi gave me the card when I had about 22 HP's on my report. Why now would a increase be out of the question? Also when having less HP's bring my scores much higher then they already are? I know they are keeping me down I just assumed by maybe 8-10 points across the board. Would see a big jump in scores when they are all off?

HPs don't hold much weight with approvals IME. What's holding you back are the recent lates. In another 12 months, a totally of 24 months. You'll have an easier time getting those CLI's. So don't stress over it right now as it won't make a difference. Try your best not to have any more lates or the process will start all back over again.

Re: Why will no one give me CLI

It might help if you look at the situation this way: Credit is not a requirement, but a privilege. It’s a privilege extended to those that have shown they will be able to meet their obligations (pay back what they borrow). This isn’t a put-down on you, but based on your history, these lenders have already taken a risk extending credit to you since in the past (for whatever reason), you haven’t met your obligations. Be happy with what they’ve extended so far.

Build some history and the story will change. 1 year post derog isn’t even close to adequate history in the credit world.

Re: Why will no one give me CLI

Have you tried removing/paying off the COs? That is something that you can work on. The lates, unless they are incorrect, only time can fix those. 30 Day lates generally impact for around 2 years. 60/90/120 day lates will impact for the full 7 years. I would recommend working on the COs and have them off your report, so that any lender will only see the late payments and nothing else. Also, with each CO taken off your reports, that'll give you a few point boost across the board.

You hit the nail on the head @overmedicated. The answer lies within.

@DR527, it really is a good time to go to the garden and IMHO, I think it should be for 24 months.

Re: Why will no one give me CLI

I understand, but I still don't get it. LOL Why send me the message about high limits? Or why would Chase not see that Citi is willing to lend me more and readjust. But you guys are right, I will continue to make on time payments and allow my HP to fall down to zero. And see about goodwill some more of these old baddies. Thanks.
