Does anyone know if they close these cards for non use? If so do they at least send a warning first?
They will lower your credit line first. It happened to me. They dropped it to $200. I don't currently live near any Target Stores anyway and have no use for the card, so as soon as I saw they were taking AA, it reminded me to call and close the card.
If I get more CLIs soon, that's one of the first cards I'm closing (the other is the one from Old Navy and I'm keeping all the other GE ones open). Tiny 300 dollar limit that doesn't grow or anything and something I never use at all. The 5% thing is cool though and I guess that's why I got it but I think there are better store cards out there and I don't think it would make my credit profile that great if I wanna go app for something much better in late September or October.
You wont believe they gave me a 300$ Auto cli to 2300$ this month after no use for 2 cycles. I have this card since last december. I purposefully did not use the card to try the trick after my dw got an auto cli(300$) last month at her 4th statement closed at 0 balance(no usage)

Yes, they will and they closed my Target Visa today for non use. It was down to a measley $200.00 CL. I just let it ride because I didn't want the hit to my score for closing it. I started with a $5800.00 CLI from years ago and they continuosly dropped my CL since the data breach. I did not use the card after that, since my card was one effected for use on those breach days.
Today, I was alerted by Equifax that they had closed my Target Visa for non-use. It cost me 16 pts, which is not a big deal, but I am in the middle of a home loan at this time. I will be using Target only in limited circumstances now. Dislike them!
This is an old thread, but there's no point in stressing over whether they'll close it for non use or not. Just use it every few months for a tiny purchase and pay it off. Then you don't have to worry about it.
Otherwise, if you don't want it anyway, who cares if they do close it?

That's a good general rule for cards that you SD but want to maintain. As for the redCard, the Target website offers free S&H for orders with the redCard. That's a good option if you can't get to a Target for some reason, but want to have usage.
I had one with a 2k limit never used it once I moved to Alaska. They closed it but I really did not care.
