Hey Guys,
So after trying the prequal site about 1 million times in the past year or so chase came back with about 5 or 6 options.
I was skeptical because I was above 5/24 by a few months but the pre-approval was correct and they approved me for the freedom unlimited.
The issue is the SL is 500 bucks. I have 2 cards with 20 grand limits from my credit union.my utilization is low, never one payment missed but I do have a file that is just under 3 years old.
How long will it take to get a limit increase if I pay everything in full before the statement comes each month?
Also, the credit Union I'm with had explained that as long as you pay and stay current with them, they don't close your cards or try to adversely affect you.
I'm kind of spiraling with bad thoughts like "are they going to shut my cards down because I applied with chase"??
"Will they think that I have too many account open (5 total) and decide I'm risky and kick me out?)
I know I'm over thinking things but I just need some reassurance.
It's been a few weeks, and nothing has changed so I guess it's not an issue at all. But has anyone had an issue where they had high limits with some of there cards and then applied for some others and there wasn't any issues?
Thanks everyone.
You're overthinking this -- there's no reason why your CU would take AA against you just because you opened a CC with Chase, regardless of the limit. Also having 5 open accounts is fine, not abnormal at all.
The $500 SL is likely due to a combination of your income and as you described, thin overall profile. Over time you should hopefully be able to grow it with good use.

list out your cards and open dates and confirm you were actually over 5/24

if you are over 5/24, it may be difficult for you to get CLIs on a chase card. this is likely your biggest concern.

you are overthniking things, you are fine.

assuming you PIF, you will very likely not encounter any problems

Thanks for the response.
Yes I 100 percent was over 5/24 but it was only by 3 to 4 weeks, so in all honesty there system probably doesn't care about a few weeks.
I ended up getting the 15 month zero apr and the 250 dollar sub as well. I'm sure somewhere down the line they will increase my CL, just not sure when.
I guess at best it gets me in with chase and it will look great down the road when I need to apply for a better card from them.
New applications don't affect existing accounts from different banks. You're fine.
My experience with Chase is they will consider a cli at 6 months. I'm sure I never spent over 5% of my cl and they approved a cli.
mine was prime, $9000 to $10800. I used the app, didn't ask how much i wanted.
