I want to refer Discover Student CC to my friend. He is new to credit. Will my credit history affect his approval odds?
I have decent credit history (4 yo, 1% Util) and good scores (770+). Will my referral positively affect friend's chances?
If I had poor scores and bad relationship with Discover, will that affect friend's chances negatively?
I know each CC company has they own proprietary analysis methods for issuing credit, but has anyone ever experienced something like this? You have good credit, friend has bad/no credit, CC approved on referrral. You have bad credit, friend has bad/no credit, CC denied on referral.

No I dont think so. Think about this... CC companies want to evaluate each person's ability to pay bill so they pull credit report and obtain a credit score from that person who applied not from the referrer. As a referrer, you do not have the responsibility to pay bills and your credit is not being pulled. Therefore, I do not think referrer's credit affects CC approval odds for the referee.
