How can you apply for the WEMC version of the United MileagePlus Cards (Club or Explorer)? Is the only way to apply regularly, then call and convert? TIA

Yeah I tried, can't find anything, had to ask here. Yeah you told me you converted it, and from what I've read, people has converted it as well. But I see nothing of how to obtaining one if one has never owned a United co-branded CC. thanks though afbar.

Oh also, before you converted yours to a WEMC, was it a regular World MC? or a Visa Siggy?

I converted mine from the old CO PP card. It was a WEMC then, and it's a WEMC now. The old version was much more difficult to get approved for, whereas now neither the explorer nor the Club card are difficult to get at all.

Thanks CreditScholar, is there anyway to get a World Elite MC United co-branded card now? I have never owned a United co-branded CC but I prefer a MC version because I shop at Sam's Club and also prefer the WEMC IF indeed it really does give better traveling benefits...

I'm honestly not sure about that one. Appbar may have an answer, but the question is this: do you even semi-regularly stay at hotels that run $300/night or more, and do you ever pay for business class airfare with cash?

Nope, my hotel stays are typically $150-200/night and only my company pays for the business class, never myself. Is that the only thing WEMC is good for? I read (on google) that the WEMC gives lounge access as well? Is that true?

Nope on the lounge access. Here is the official listing. 

Edit - there may be some options for lounge access with some international carriers based on premium ticket purchases when using the card. Apparently Aer Lingus does offer longe access. So I guess it's a very small yes?

I guess the regular WMC is good enough for me then if avail. (Sam's Club at 1.5x purchases!). I'll just eventually call Chase when I apply and update data points here. thanks
