World Elite MasterCard vs. Visa Signature

So I know there is Visa Platinum and Visa Signature, and MasterCard offers World MasterCard and apparently World Wlite MasterCard. Does Visa have anything equal to it? And is WE MC the highest tier they offer?

Edit: Also which cards are WEMC?

Citi has a couple.  AAdvantage WEMC & Citi Prestige (usually accompanied by $450 AF).

Re: World Elite MasterCard vs. Visa Signature

Signature and world elite are the same "level" and are the 2 highest grades I can think of before the super premium +$250 annual fee cards. BoA/Fidelity/Merrill has them too. The minimum credit line for both is $5k and depending on the card it might or might not have an annual fee.

Re: World Elite MasterCard vs. Visa Signature

from my perspective, id say that the world mastercard is closer to, but one step down from visa sig, and WEMC is a half step up from visa sig (benefitting primarily from primary collision insurance rather than secondary). as mentioned, visa infinite isn't available in the US, but iirc it had more benefits than WEMC.

so:

World Elite Mastercard

Visa Sig

World Mastercard

Edit: most cards that are WEMC have annual fees. Citi has a lot of them that you can apply for as Citi is a pretty MC heavy bank. What many people don't know is that those with oustanding relationships with Citi can get their non-AF cards upgraded to WEMC (TY Preferred, Dividend, etc.). Otherwise, there are a couple cobranded ones like Ameriprise and Saks Fifth (one of those too is AF free if im correct).

Re: World Elite MasterCard vs. Visa Signature

To me World Elite has a lot more than Siugnature Visa:

http://www.mastercard.us/credit-card-world-elite.html

MasterCard has six rewards levels: Standard, Gold, Platinum, World, Black, and World Elite

Re: World Elite MasterCard vs. Visa Signature

never heard of black before -- though it seems pretty comparable to World or World Elite. Perhaps it's an international equivalent?

only actual MC black card I found was from Trium based in Antigua: http://www.triumbank.com/trium-mastercard-black.p.aspx

as far as travel benefits, concierge, and portfolio goes, Visa Sig has a lot of those things. MC's "Priceless Cities" perk is similar to a lot of the offers I get as a CSP Visa Sig holder (though I'm not too sure which of those are CSP-related and which are Visa Sig related; but I get a ton of offers for events, dinings, travel, even playing a round of golf with a pro golfer, etc.).

WEMC does seem to have a couple "private experience" benefits such as chauffers, private jet, etc. Though arguably those things could probably be achieved by asking Visa Sig's concierge -- MC just does a better job at advertising so.
