World's Foremost Bank | A Little Shocked

Ok, so please tell me that there are people out there with World's Foremost Bank credit cards that they are totally happy with.  I just recently applied and got approved for a Cabelas Visa and I was doing a little research on World's Foremost Bank and stumbled upon the  following link.  Now, I know a lot of these comments are 2+ years old, however, doing a google search on World's Foremost Bank, it seems like there are hundreds of complaints based on the exact same thing...people open an account with WFB and are excellent customers..then out of nowhere WFB sent letters slashing credit lines and closing accounts based on a credit score going below 700.  I've read hundreds of complaints on poor customer service and this just makes me very uneasy.  My new card hasn't even arrived in the mail yet, and I already want to cancel it...Anyone out there have experience with WFB and how you have been treated?

Here's one of the sites I was looking at:  http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/world039s-foremost-bank-a-division-of-cabelas-c103925.html

Re: World's Foremost Bank | A Little Shocked

Cabela's is one of my favorite cards.  I put most of our household bills on it because it's very easy to manage online.  I can pay the bill before the transaction even posts - I think Cabela's is currently the only card we have that'll take a credit balance and still smile.  It makes bill paying a breeze.

I have been happy with every detail of the Cabela's card.  Great CL.  DH started at $5,000 CL in 2009; and is up to $10,000 currently.  Great customer service.  When we ordered DS's Garmin for Christmas, it showed up at the door before it even posted on the bill.  The only thing I've been less than thrilled with was the LexisNexis questions used during the app process.  Bent my memory cells pretty severely.......

I've never been in a Cabela's store, btw.  The closest one to me is over an hour away.

I read through several of the posts on the link you provided.  Looks like mostly people are upset about balance chasing, which is pretty standard with a lot of cards.  Especially a year or so ago.  If you maintain high balances, lots of cc's will balance chase you - as one of the posters on your link accurately pointed out.  Some cc providers don't just balance chase you, they close you down.  It's always a good point to watch your utilization, no matter who your card is with.

Best wishes to you and your Cabela's card.  I think they're grand.

Re: World's Foremost Bank | A Little Shocked

Got my Cabela's Visa last March.  No problems whatsoever, and my score is EQ 693, was 700+ when approved.  I use it frequently, and do carry a balance.  I pay online 2-3 times a month though, always more than minimum.  I'm gardening now, this is my newest account.  Got baddies falling off this year, then I'll see about a CLI.  It will be a hard pull according to what I've researched on these forums.  I do like the rewards though, I've purchased several things on-line and from catalogs using the Cabela's bucks.  No complaints here.

If you put in Bank of America or Chase credit card on that site, you'll get many more complaints.  I haven't heard many negative things about the Cabelas card on this site.  If you're going to be looking at a 'complaints' site, then that's all you'll be reading!  Smiley Wink

Re: World's Foremost Bank | A Little Shocked

I was one of the people that opened a Cabelas when they were handing them out like candy... I was at 652 at approval and think that was pretty much as low as they went... approved for 3k but once card arrived it was $1500.  9 months later they closed the account after a review and changing credit criteria to be 680 min score and no bk.

I have not heard of bad things since closing everyone out that didn't meet the new standards... so i think you are probably fine if getting it now.
